Road Trip 2013

Back in June, we headed out on our second road trip.  We have decided that as a family of 4, we want to visit each state.   Nolan has been so excited about this and loves looking at the map and planning future trips and routes!

We stayed our first night in Louisiana and visited LSU and Mike the tiger as well as a science museum.  The boys loved this and Nolan thought the rivers would made out of chocolate!  The following day we got to Mississippi and took a lunch break on the ocean and swam after.  Next, we drove to our hotel in  Pensacola and stayed there for 3 nights.   The water was a beautiful clear blue! We took a day trip out to Florabama to visit Mimi, Aunt Sara and Aunt Shanna, Mr. Tim and his family.  They were on vacation and not too far away!  We had lunch there and played on the beach.

The following day Mimi and Aunt Shanna and Aunt Sara came up to our hotel to visit us!  After our 3 nights we headed out to Alabama.  We stopped in Foley to visit a cute old soda fountain and had lunch.  We again stayed the night in Lousiana or "the boot" as the boys love to call it.  We had  a super fun trip but were glad to be back in Texas.  Nolan was eager to mark off the 4 states that we visited with his brass fasteners.  We love this little family challenge we've got going and are already talking about possible routes for next summer!
